[High Five H2]

It's been a while since I've posted regularly, but I'm finally back in a Hummer. I sold my H3 a year ago and finally found an H2 that was EXACTLY what I wanted. A black SUT with sedona interior. It has the luxury and adventure packages (I think) but it's been blacked out and lifted so no more air suspension. I have never had good luck with air suspension so I'm glad it's gone. It's lifted about 3 feet (as far as I can tell) and on 40" tires and 20" rock star wheels. It's like driving a voltron around.

Short term plans:

Black grill - no, it wasn't chrome. It was painted with little skulls or something. everyone to their own, I guess.
Stereo with apple car play - does anyone know anything about making the rear DVD thing work with an aftermarket headunit? I did some googling but couldn't find anything.

Long term -
Get rid of the rock stars. I really hate these wheels. I want some beadlocks.

Solid front axle

So I may have some things for sale - the factory adventure grill guard, the skull grill, the current wheels/tires, I think that's it. I'm trying to decide if I like the camper top or not. If I sell the wheels it's going to be not for a while.

Fun fact: there was an 8 foot limit to the parking garage that it's in, and I just barely cleared it by like 3 inches 8-|

Also, I have some questions - it's lifted REALLY HIGH and it's on massive tires. I'm worried that it will roll really easily. Should I lower it some? Get smaller tires?

And, the rear coil springs have red balloon things inside them. What the heck are those? Pics below.

Also: if I do end up doing the Dmax swap, I want to keep the 6.2 for an H3 swap

Shoot, I though you were going to save that 6.2 for MY H3? LOL. Congrats on the new ride, it looks great.

H2s seem to wheel really well on 38s, so 40s aren't that much of a height increase. It looks like the lift you have on there would be necessary to accommodate 40s. I've wheeled with an H2 on a 6" Fabtech lift kit and it did very well off road. Never saw issues with thinking it would roll over. Obviously, a higher center of gravity makes it more likely, but that doesn't mean it is necessarily likely.

Red balloons are airbags, basically they lift and stretch your springs.

[High Five H2]

It's at my brother's house right now, so I'll stop by this week to get some pictures. I'm staying with my parents temporarily while my house is getting built. I might need to lower it some just to fit it in the garage. I think i'm like a foot below eye level to semi-truck drivers. Maybe more, but that's what it feels like.

My future plans for it are to do a Dmax swap, and have them put a 11.5 in 14 bolt in while they're at it, and then have some suspension built for the rear while they're doing a SAS up front. I think I'm going to do 38" MTRs. They come in a wider tire at that size and it seems like I can get a better COG and be less likely to break axles. If a 38 and 40" tire perform about the same then why risk it?

I'm going to get some pictures of the factory grill guard and skull painted grill to sell. I'm sure someone will like it more than me. Funny enough, my wife said I should keep it. I never thought cars painted with skulls were her style... Oh yeah, the stars on the wheels are painted too :giggle: I'm going to sell those locally. I'm sure 20" rock stars with 40" tires would sell fast around here. roughly 25% of passenger vehicles are lifted diesel trucks and half of those have rock star wheels.

I figured those were air bags. They aren't factory though, right? Any idea how they work? Same as factory or what?

I really have no idea what is going to make an H2 perform well off-road, so I'm going to ask lots of questions All I know is I want a duramax and a solid axle up front.

H2s do very well offroad. Lifted like that some of the off camber slopes will be felt more but that just adds to the adrenaline rush.

You may be pleasantly surprised at how well your H2 does in Moab.

Did Poison Spider at Moab back in May in my H2. It ran it with no problems. Rock sliders saved one side against a rock and front skid plate got a nice dent.
