One of my buddies, who is in DEP with me and has an 03 TJ, and I were talking about our rigs. He mentioned he got a custom exhaust system done on it, we went out to his truck and it sounded really nice. He had it straight piped off the headers and it resulted in a mean rumble. Well this morning he and I went to a shop in Manassas so I could get an estimate. Got there when they opened and the guy who helped me took a quick look and then we put it up on the lift.
I told him that I wanted a cat-back system so I didn't have to worry about emissions failing and also inquired about removal of the resonator. After a quick gander and talking, we landed on a price of $500. He cut the exhaust right before the resonator, removing it, and obviously the muffler and tail pipe. In place, a Magnaflow dual exhaust system was installed with two stainless steel pipes all the way out.
Magnaflow muffler....
One of the guys welding on the pipes...
Here is how the tail pipes look now...
And finally, here's how he sounds now...

The guys at the shop were really cool and were able to get the entire project done in about 50 minutes. I ended up driving home with giant smile on my face the entire time
. Anybody who wants a throaty roar, I highly recommend getting the magnaflow system
