Modified Thor rear bumper

I like my Thor rear bumper, but decided I wanted a D-Ring on the left side. I wanted a "factory" type set up, which took some work. I picked up a right side bumper bracket that has D-Ring mount. I cut off the bumper bracket part, mocked it all up to the factory hitch on the left side, tacked it, trial fit it, then welded it all solid. Even added some extra 1/4" gussets to add strength. I was shocked that all bolt holes lined up perfectly. I now have my tag set up to slide in my receiver. I will also have a rear tire mount option (jeep style) that will be used if i need my hitch. Tag now can be removed for offroading (no more bent or lost tags from water crossings). Tag lights plug into my trailer harness behind the bumper.

I also modified my ARB bumper to accept the second d-ring. Unfortunately I never had the time to do the frame bracket. That's one of those pending things that make builds never ending.

Yup. That's actually what I had in mind when I offered the DS D-ring option. However, most customers wouldn't have the resources to track down a junkyard PS mounting bracket, then do some cutting on it, then weld it in place. So...I came up with the "chain it to the frame" style of D-ring mount. Great job...that's exactly how it should be done.

A couple of comments, if anybody else wants to do something similar:
1. Whatever method of attachment you choose...make sure to tie the D-ring to the frame, and not just to the bumper.
2. Truck owners should be aware that this mounting bracket is NOT flat on the H3T. Unlike the H3...the factory H3T rear bumper is actually curved, and the D-ring bracket sits at a slight angle. You need to account for this if you plan to weld-on a new one on the drivers-side.

PS I got my truck back friday and its running like a dream. Still need to get the rear locker actuator fixed. So i'll be all set to go wheelin again in a coupl e of weeks.

I like the looks of two tow hooks. I can see adding that to my never ending list. I'd have to move my license plate to the spare tire, make a mounting bracket and add wiring ...

I added the OEM backup camera to my H3T Thor parts rear bumper. This picture was taken before the Line-X coating.

Let me just say, 4Speeds bumper is perfect, I actually modified my less than perfect truck..lol

Im actually looking for a back up camera to recess into the trailer hitch hole since I use a 4pin only. Was also thinking of a front camera like the Raptor uses. May be fun while offroading.
