H3 Gobi Stealth Rack w LED Light Bar Set-Up Questions

I am about ready to put a Gobi Stealth on my H3 and thought it best to install/wire in a light bar
first. Just curious as to what bars and mounting system(s) you guys are using. The rack originally came
with the smallish PIAA lights that were so common back in the day but I would prefer to just go with a
LED bar instead. I will have plenty of down field vision from a pair of Lightforce spots on the grill guard
so maybe a spot/area combo would be the choice to make.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

I used light bar clamps to mount a small Rigid light bar to the Gobi Stealth rack. https://axiaalloys.com/

Rigids are pricey but they look as good now as they did when I put them on years ago. No leaks, no fading of the powdercoat and the lenses still look great. There are so many options now just in their catalog let alone the competition. You could go single row lights, or a few pods.

Thanks Alex.

I went down that light bar rabbit hole and my god....you get everything from the $ublime to the ridiculous.

Like anything else, you get what you pay for.

Your link to those mounts will help me a lot. (there was also another company that did aluminum clamps/mounts but I cannot for the life of me, remember them)

I see stuff mounted in front of the bars on the rack and some behind....Guess it depends on how protected your light bar needs to be.

There was a guy over on the old HummerX site that had a great set-up...think he actually got featured or mentioned in the mags a couple of times. (grey, beadlocks, stealth, maybe from FL).

Was going to attempt to replicate his set-up but cannot find any info.

I will most likely copy yours or some version of it.

Imitation is the sincerest from of flattery, yes? :)

The Stealth rack doesn't really have enough room to mount a larger/standard light bar behind the bars, IMO. But a single row fixture might fit well between the bars. Honestly, most roof lights are for looks vs performance so you might as well take the steps to make it look good. You've got enough performance with your grill lights and you'll get enough from anything you put on the roof. You're likely not rallying at 100 mph through the desert where you need 400' of light during a new moon. So, find what makes it look good and spend enough that you won't regret the budget savings in 24 months.

I like the way you mounted the lights in front of the bar. I have the same rack and was looking at doing small individual lights on the actual mounting plate. I'd rather have it mounted in front like yours though so I could do a single bar. I'm thinking of a large bar in the "hybrid" setup (spot and flood) so I can get the best of both worlds. Do you have multiple lights, or is it a single bar? Do you get any whistling in that position from the lights?

I now have a 10" bar, and used to have two smaller pods up there that I moved to the bumper. I don't get any whistling up there. I don't use the sunroof anymore because of too much wind noise when it's open, and the sunroof won't retract anymore anyway :).

I think a larger bar would look great. You don't need to go full width (though you can, of course). There's plenty of light just from this 10" Rigid light
