Front anti-sway bar for SAS rigs…

I have done over a dozen SAS H3’s, and the front anti-sway bar has always managed to be a unicorn. The outboard steering box is right in the way. I have seen some homemade versions but, nothing that really trips my trigger.

Way back in 2012 or so, I bought a Currie Anti-rock front sway bar kit for a Jeep TJ. I tried (unsuccessfully) to get it mounted. It was too narrow. Eventually I sold it to a Jeep guy and gave up on the project.

Fast forward ten years and Currie (or RockJock as it is now called), has released some “universal” fit kits…one of which is 45” wide. I think I may be able to get this installed. This kit comes with a tube, rather than just clamps, to hold the bar in place. The idea is that the tube will extend past the frame rails and allow the bolt-on arms to pass outboard of the steering box. I just received it and haven’t really messed with it but, I will be doing some experimentation with this. I will post up my findings.

Mine has the RJ 36”. I used the spline section from the kit and made an 1/2” arm curved to clear the pitman arm on left turns and slightly jogged out to clear the steering box. It gets full up travel to bottomed out bump stops and 6” droop for on-road use and swings out of the way for trails. I’d locate the upper link point a little further back and slightly higher if I were to do it over again. 06 H3 found the CE-99001D is a thicker bar that I still want to upgrade to.
