Okay...this one is for Bebe. I'm pretty sure she may have had the same issue.
So, I bought some 5.13s for my H3 rear axle. These are made by USA-Standard gear, and I thought I might give this company a try. They are indeed made in the USA, and I always like to help out domestic products whenever I can. Well...the problem is: The ring gear is too thick. The teeth are blocking the hole where the cross-pin goes. Obviously, I got a problem. I did not see anything denoting this as a "thick cut" gearset when I bought it, and its only .120" or so thicker than the stock ring gear. I figured I shouldn't need a thick one anyway, since the stock H3 carrier (Eaton actually) is already the proper offset for 4.56s. Anyway, USA-Standard's website says this is the gearset I need. But, I can vouch that this gearset does not work on the Eaton locker in an H3. The only person I know that has re-geared to 5.13s is Bebe. So what gearset did you end up using in your axle? Yukon I presume? Got a part number?
My H3 is gutted right now. The Rancho kit and both axles are out from under it. Finally doin some cuttin for the SAS and SOA. I managed to snap a pic for you and Speedy. An old friend of yours was hangin around my shop...
