I was going to just cut out the middle part of the bumper but after going back and forth on ideas it came down to just go with the whole ReconH3 front end. Start welding tomorrow.

I know of SWEET way to make this work, but you can't be weak about cutting off the frame horns. Once those are gone some 4" C channel will bolt right on to the frame and open your world to ALL kinds of possibilities. Turns out once the C-channel is on there, you now have the same frame set-up as pre-04 Wranglers which means you can find a real winch bumper to squeeze in there. It takes alot of trips to various 4x stores to measure what will fit and look right, but I managed to get a wicked Fab Fours bumper on mine

Hmmmm this is my first time doing a winch so I'm a little lost about what you said? Me and frumaker came down to getting C channel that is 7"X30" and place it in between the frame and have 6 points of weld on it. Then making a L bracket with 6 point to bolt the winch plate and fog lamps. I'll have more photos today after the BBQ and build!!!!

Not finished yet if you can tell I'm missing my front plate and the metal bumper behind the tow hooks. We will get the rest of it put together and then work on something for the fog lights. Question would PIAA fog lamps be better the the OEM? I would think so but need to know if I should just keep the cash in the pocket or buy them. One more thing I think the THOR fog light pod are what we are going to go for so I need a good front in picture. Thank you.

Not sure if we should be flattered or concerned that you put H4O ahead of personal hygiene! :)

Looks like it is coming along great. Since the Thor's accommodate the OEM lamps why not just use those for now and save that PIAA money for another day?

OK I need some measurement for the fog lamp pods, going to stick with the OEM one for now and do some research to see is the PIAA is any better.. Went and hit it with some black today so is doesn't look to funny. Should have the front end put together in the next few days and then after that make a bracket for the fog lamps. Damn winch hook had a one time nut on it or something so when we put it together to test it, it wouldn't come back off so know I need to get a new one.

Your right but we are just going to make a plate that's in the same shape as the Thor light pods.

Interesting execution.

That leaves you a lot of room to play with a new skid plate design.

Are you going to leave that factory crash bar in place or do something else?

What rating is that winch?

I thought I saw a 12.5K sticker on it in one of the earlier pics.

The winch is a Tuff Stuff Extreme Winch 12,500 andwe are just going to cut the plate that bolts behind the tow hook and reuse the OEM.

At 12.5K, that big SOB ought to either un-stick your azz or pull the front of the damn truck off.

Do you still have access to the clutch lever so you can spool out the cable?

Sure can I was worried about that also but this works out just fine.

I didn't know how I was going to like this look but I'm starting to really get into it with all the tires showing in the front. I cut down the front wheel well covers also. Just need the roller fairlead and some cutting and bolting. It really is going to be a cross one Recon and the thor front end.
