My side air bags went off

now was this an option? Im an early 06 and didnt have em. Kyles a later 06. Bebes was before mine, so was neo do you guys have side air bags? If so it may be an adventure package thing.

I remember seeing an airbag deployment on video a couple years ago. The guy was just puttin along on an off-road trail, about 3 mph. BOOM! Everyone present stopped and wondered what had happened. The driver got out a bit stunned but, there was no reason whatsoever for the bags to blow. Just a case of the pooter getting confused I guess. Since it was captured on video...I would think the dealer would've replaced the parts under warranty, as it was very clear that nothing caused it.

They were an option in 06 and 07 and standard after that.

If they were options does that mean they dont have to be re-installed and the computer reprogramed? Because i dont want the airbags there again.

Lol. First time in the H3 though. I must say its weird. The so cal guys have been on some crazy side slopes and never popped one, we even had Adrian smack his 3 into a tree on John Bull and it didn't blow. You are in a unique situation. Who knows if you can ditch the side airbags....you can be the first. Try and do it without the light too lol

well i was thinking about doing a switch. The FJ cruisers have them!

i had mine go off and it was a faulty sensor that made the airbags go bang
tip alway have your seat belts set to the highest position on the pillar so if it happens you can lower it and still have your belt on

Standard in 2008+ and optional in 2006-2007

Adrian doesn't have them and he's an 08.

Check on the side and it will say airbag. It's on the a pillar

If you do indeed mean WarMongur, it's a Pre 08 from pics. It has the 06/07 front bumper and skid. It's also slate blue which is a 06 and 07 color.

Side curtain air bags became standard in 2008

I think they are a bit bigger all the same. Test drove one for 1.32 minutes several months before Rollin w. my H3 and hated it immediately. It felt like climbing into a cavern and I swear I could hear echoes of everything I said. That combined with horrible blind spots and dash where I couldn't reach anything without leaning and I said **** it. That 1:32 makes me an expert. Total piece of crap! :giggle:
