Expedition hardware recovery thread h3/ h3t

OK guys/ girls. I'd like to get some feedback from you on recovery equipment packages for the H3 (mid sized trucks). Since we all wheel diferent weight trucks, some will require higher/ lower weight rated straps/ shackles/ etc.

So I would like to start with the H3/JK/FJ sized trucks for this thread only. We will do a seperate one for the heavier trucks.

I would like to get some feedback as to what specific products (from the below manufacts) you would like to see in a pre-packaged recovery kit. We can mix the manufacts up too. It doesn't have to be all one maunfact.

Here's some of the higher quality manufacts I currently order. If you do not see a brand here that you would like listed, please bring it up also. I know not everyone will want an expensive kit, however, I prefer to buy quality/ near bullet proof/ reliable equipment and would like to try and keep this side of the cheaper stuff.

I like the Arb winch line dampening blanket and tire plug kit and the Warn Clevis and snatch block.

For snatch/recovery straps, I really like the quality of the ARB. When it comes to shackles, out of that list I would go with Van Beest brand shackles from Viking. The latest Warn shackles are made in China. The Van Beest shackles are not America made but Europe (Netherlands to be exact) is better then China. Can't comment on Snatch blocks but I have heard great things about both the ARB and Warn snatch blocks.

As for specific, here would be a really really basic recovery kit
ARB Compact Recovery Bag (ARB503)
ARB Snatch Strap 24,000lb (ARB710US)
(2) Van Beest Green Pin 3/4" Shackles (100520)

I've been quite impressed with all the brands and equipment that Viking carries. Their stuff matches your description of just short of bullet proof.

For anyone that lives near snow or sticky mud that won't shed, I'd add snow and ice chains and I think RUD is the best brand http://www.rud.com/en-us/produkte/schneeketten/llkw/cortina.html although I'd like to see a better carrying bag.

Tim, x2 on the snow chains. I'm looking for some to go with my 35" KM2s.

You could package the Hi-Lift jacks with the off-road base, handle isolator, bumper and wheel lift mates...
