Arizona's Box Canyon trail near Florence, AZ

Has anyone done this trail recently? I am running a 2007 H3. I am planning on just doing the canyon and not any of the other trails that branch off. I am coming from Gilbert, AZ. should I start from the Price road entrance or is there another way in? do i really need a rec pass? I cant find much info on this sort of thing. Any info is helpful.

Been a while since I've run that. I would start on the Price Rd/79 intersection. https://www.google.com/maps/@33.0602509,-111.3793366,15z?hl=en. No need for a pass that I'm aware of. Can't join this weekend as I've got other things going on. You can get there off of 60 as well, but starting from 79 is easier.

alrock, Thanks for the info. Ive done a lot of looking online but no clear answers. How is the trail? pretty fun?

Nice trail, fairly short, nothing too tough on the main trail. There are some play areas like this


And rock humping, though last time this was much smaller with more sand built up
