Hi everyone,
Tonight I happened to feel like working some HF so I got the antenna dialed in, fired up the radio and amplifier and soon enough I found myself talking to Finland. then, a little bit later I heard a weak signal with a very unusual callsign and I gave it a shot and lo and behold: He responded to my call. Turned out the operator is one of the engineers on the Russian research station on Antarctica. -This is only the 2nd time I've been able to reach that far. To complete a good evening, I ended up talking to Amir in Israel, his signal was so strong it sounded like he was sitting next to me.
-This was all on the 20 meter band BTW.
