Did some cutting in October and some backsliding in Nov. I'm going to try and cut a bit more, maybe 10 lbs tops and then bulk. I've never done a bulk before so I'm pumped (or at least I hope to be). Any tips? Is anyone still updating their progress?

Don't overdo it on your "bulk". Don't go overboard adding too many calories too quickly. Add 500 at a time once you stop gaining weight at your current caloric intake.

I've been bodybuilding since a very young age. For the past 10 yrs, have been very hard core and was training for a bodybuilding show. Takes a lot of dedication, time and effort. And as my coach used to say, "If bodybuilding was easy everyone would do it." My split for working out is 4 days a week with 2 hour max in the gym. I have a Lifecycle stepper at home to get in my cardio, and the gym is for lifting heavy. I train very heavy while in the gym. Currently I'm on a Carb cycle diet to pull off some bodyfat. I'm 5'7" , sitting at 208 lbs with 30 inch waist. Thinking about stepping up on the stage again though this time would be in the Master class, I'm 45 yrs old now.

Here's recent photos within last could of months:

dang, you guys are shredded. I was up to around 20% bf 2 years ago and I'm trying to drop down to 10%.

Right now I'm at 1500 cal/day, which I estimate should be around 1.8 lb loss/week. I'll probably add 200 cal/day again until maintenance and then do 100-200 extra and lift 5 times a week and run once instead of lift 3 and run 3.

At 1500cals a day you should lose alot more than that, you should bump the cals and try to add in some cardio instead. Last thing you want is to lose alot of muscle along with that fat.

I'm aiming for 1500 cal, but I'm probably eating more than that. I haven't lost any muscle mass, as far as I can tell. my lifts haven't gone down. I'm only losing like 5 lbs a month (when I'm actually cutting). I'm doing the laziest cut ever. Its been tough because of the holidays and traveling and stuff. But I only have 10-12 lbs to go to get to 10% BF so there's that.

Also, you were right about the nerve-muscle connection improving to increase strength. I thought hypertrophy was the only thing that happened.

How are you gauging your body fat? Have you been through a hydrostatic bodyfat test? I just had one done last week, it was a pretty cool process.

Wow never came across this thread before... Lol I think the heaviest thing I have lifted recently was my road armor bumper.

Well I'm back at it starting today, after my Afghanistan deployment end of 2015 into 2016. I've had 2 back surgeries and my 3rd ankle surgery. I once again feel I'm at a good spot in physical health that I can start back at picking things up and putting them back down. Starting off easy of course.
