This weekend I went out with my brothers team to a "24 Hours of LeMons" at NJMP
Our team is "Silver Error - Ziegel Scheißhaus" driving early 80's Mercedes 190E
There where several issues with a car that had to be addressed and it seems that everything was fixed and taking care of this time. The day one was pretty good for us. We had absolutely no issue and finished the day with 4 laps on the second place. Day 2 was a bit tougher. We started good and in 3 hours gained another lap. We where not the fastest car so we decided to wine some time on the pits and push the car until the fuel will run out. The car started bugging on the 3:30 in to the race (it is very tough on the driver to race for that long) Later we learned that we god a black flag and lost 5 laps because of it. That dropped us on the second place - 40 seconds behind the leader. We had our ace driver jumped in to the car and he had to go for another 3:20. He is fast, but when you go faster you consume more fuel, So we where not sure that he will have enough gas to last till the end... 2 hours in we gained almost 2 laps and decided to slow him down to conserve fuel. If we would take another pit stop we would not win. 30 minutes to the and of the race the number 2 car blows up an engine and when out of the race. By that time we had no competition and cruised till the end. We end up winning the class A and number 1 overall spot.
Well, in the spirit of "...Lemons", who cares?
The spot light was taking by the team "Speedycop". They did a new project that was unveiled in NJMP. This was really spectacular. it was an "upsidedown Camaro". Watching this thing on the truck was a blast. It is gutted 99 Camaro sitting on the 90 Ford Festiva
