If you need an injection pump that would be correct. Is your buddy sure that is what he needs?

I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at in this picture..... Do you have a less close-up photo?

Doesn't really look like an injection or lift pump.

Yes this for sure isn't the pump, uploaded something else.
Thank you for confirming the part though.

That looks like a pretty customized setup..... So... I'm assuming that his "feeder" may be a different kind of lift pump to replace the OEM fuel lift pump, maybe in order to supply more fuel? Is this a customized 6.5 or 6.2 with an intercooler? AFAIK the stick 6.5 turbo's didn't have any intercooler. The fact that here is a custom intercooler setup makes me think that he is running a custom system

    Its a 6.5.
So would that be what catches unused fuel and sends it back in?
Still unable to find info. Im looking for a part that can serve the same purpose if I canít find a direct replacement.

As far as I know, that's what the stock lift pump would do. *IF* this pump is a replacement / upgraded / modified lift pump setup then I think there is a good chance it sends unused fuel back to the tank

Yes, there is one, if I recall correctly its either by the firewall or the frame.
There's a language barrier here and he's unable to explain this to me in English.

He calls it a bleeder, and says its job is to bleed the diesel fuel I think from air?
Asked him to tell me where the hoses are coming from, and where they're going, he should get back to me by the morning.

    Diesel pump for a 2001

I may be stating the obvious here, and you may have already done this but:

Are there any numbers on the pump? If there are, google them and see what comes back... you never know, a seemingly random number might be a part number

Yes the lift pump is by the firewall on the driver's side of the engine compartment. That does not look like a "bleeder" and I am not sure why you would need a second one. There is a bleeder valve in the driver's side front wheel well.
