What are your guys' thoughts on Rubicon Express suspensions?

They are expensive.... Are they worth it?
They seem to vary by generation and vehicle. Jason had a great one on his TJ but the early ones for the JKs were not well received. I believe they may have fixed them up later.

Got a call from the shop today:

Them: "I have good news and I have bad news"
Me: "Let's hear it"
Them: "The good news is that your drive shaft is ok. The bad news is your Ox locker grenaded completely"
Me: "Uh... well... I guess that would explain the weird noise"
Them: "Uh..... yes, yes it would"

Time for an update, I can't believe how time flies!

I have an Iron Rock off road 7 inch lift long arm kit on the way, including new Bilstein shocks. The front diff was, surprisingly, repairable and now locks and seems to work. So, with a little bit of luck, I'll be coming to Moab with the new suspension all installed and ready to test.

I will be needing new drive shafts to accommodate the lift, and very likely also a SYE.

Well, the long arm kit is on.

Remaining work:
Limit strap in the front
Belly skid
Fender flares

I'll see if I can find some dirt to play in tomorrow to test out the new setup. So far, having driven the Jeep a bit around town, there's huge difference between the old "frankenstein" suspension and the new Iron Rock stuff. But then again: New geometry, new bushings, new shocks and springs SHOULD make a difference.

Oh, and, the shop had to re-route the exhaust pipe so they needed to put a new muffler on. Turned out all they had was a Magnaflow. Hate it when that happens :hans:

Got a small amount of dirt on the Jeep today. Got it all cleaned up too.

After the trip to the spa, the Jeep decided to start misfiring on one cylinder. I never found the bad one, but the problem is gone again.... at least for now.

I think the Jeep is about as ready as it’s going to be

Got a belly skid and a set of fender flares going

Time for another update:

The Jeep is in the middle of an improvement and upgrade cycle. So far, we are looking at:

Front axle truss
Front axle tube kit
Replace front axle shafts with a set with U joins (ditch the CV joints)
Repair front locker
Replace rear locker with an Eaton E-locker
Replace t-case with an Atlas 4.3:1
New front diff ring and pinion
New radiator
New cooling shroud
New front brakes (Jeep WJ brakes)
Hydraulic bump stops
New fuel pump and filter

Sold my Jeep this weekend. Little girl named Marie bought it. 5' 100 pound girl said she likes to go mudding. Runs with the military Jeepers out of Ft Hood. I think it went to a great home. 2004 LJ 4.0L lift, 35" tires, rocker panel protection, off road lights, CB, steel bumpers, etc.

Yes. It was a cool looking ride. Never drove it much though. JJ wouldn’t drive it, didn’t even like riding in it. Just one more thing for me to maintain that I didn’t have time for.

Time for an update.

The Jeep is still at the Jeep Rejuvenation Experience(TM). Currently waiting for the new T-case to be built and shipped.

When it's all said and done, the Jeep will be pretty much rebuilt in every way.

I am getting *very* excited, can't wait to drive it!

Your squatting in the Jeep Rejuvenation Experience bay is only delaying my H3T's turn in the Hummer Experience bay at the last and best Hummer Renovation facility in the US.[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
