My first suggestion would be to try the reader on a different vehicle.

Did it work yesterday?
Is this a new reader? Could be h2 is not supported.
Take h2 to any auto parts store and have them try their scanner on it. Most will do it no charge. If they want money go somewhere else

Not sure what you just said in your post. The OBDII reader at the auto parts store wouldn't work in your H2? What kind of reader do you have? Some of those cheap Amazon/eBay ones are not that reliable. I have one, and it's worked, but there are plenty of stories of them not working.

Not sure what code reader you're using, I got mine at Harbor Freight for $70 and it works fine---maybe your code reader can't read the HUMMER (out of date, wrong program)
