my OBD code reader port won't work in my h2 hummer

My first suggestion would be to try the reader on a different vehicle.

Did it work yesterday?
Is this a new reader? Could be h2 is not supported.
Take h2 to any auto parts store and have them try their scanner on it. Most will do it no charge. If they want money go somewhere else

Not sure what you just said in your post. The OBDII reader at the auto parts store wouldn't work in your H2? What kind of reader do you have? Some of those cheap Amazon/eBay ones are not that reliable. I have one, and it's worked, but there are plenty of stories of them not working.

Replace your blown cigar fuse in the under hood fuse box.... Oddly GM (and many other brands) get the positive power wire for the OBDII port from the lighter circuit. I guess because there is little chance for any interference.
