Can I suppress the redundant photos?

When I attache a pic in a post, it shows in the body of the post and is repeated with an "attached image" label at the bottom of the post. Can I stop the second image from eating up space on the page?

Not sure how to get rid of the damn thing if you are uploading from your PC, as I rarely use that option.

Thanks. I never realized that was it was caused by uploading a pic instead of using one of the free photo servers. I'll probably forget it before I post pics again.:huh:
