Averys 08 H3 Build thread

So I bought my H3 about a year ago. After looking at multiple other H3s I finally settled on my 08 base. This is my first car, worked for 3 summers day and night, and even bought and flipped a jeep [emoji23] to make enough so I could buy my dream truck. A lot of kids growing up want lamborghinis and ferraris but I always wanted a truck with big tires! A few years back my dad found a H3T he wanted to buy out in Texas, so we flew from NJ out to Texas, picked it up, and drove it back. Ever since then I knew I wanted to get my own 3. so 4 months before getting my license at 17, I brought home my black h3, and my build started the next day

it came with a different grill because the previous owner I guess hit something in his driveway and broke a couple clips holding one of the blinkers

so I plastidipped everything (grill, emblems, you name it) and swapped out my rims and tires for 20x8.5 rockstars and 33" nitto terras off of my dads T. while I had those rims/tires I didn't do much with my truck other than fixing loose heat shields and shocks which were making tons of noise, doing a muffler delete, and tinting my windows over and over trying to perfect it.

I threw on some spacers and that lasted 3 days before I got pulled over for "tires being too wide" so I went back to the oems which recently had new 33" Toyo at2 extremes and cranked the t bars the same day I put those on ImageUploadedByTapatalk1457500497.457246.jpg
my dad sold his T a few weeks after we swapped our wheels back and got a new f-150 ImageUploadedByTapatalk1457500562.939143.jpg
Bigger things: recently I got a 50" curved and swapped fog lights for cube spot light LEDs, and 4ft CB antenna just for show
just bedlined the grill and wheel wells
stripped the plastidip off the rims with plans of painting them gloss black permanently (but I am really liking the silver look right now) and just threw in all new door speakers

I can't wait to be able to wheel when I am at school, the Jersey Shore is very very limited with tons of jeeps around aka mall crawling

upcoming plans
new headunit and 2 12"s (done)
new driver and passenger tint (done)
roof rack (done)
hids in reflectors (done)

future plans

hids in projectors
extended rear shackles (done)
matching spare
bedlined fenders (done)
35s (done)
Rock sliders (done)
rancho
on board air/train horn
Underbody protection
possibly a new bumper (did bumper mod)

So I have finally gotten down to a few mods that have been on my checklist for a long time

Tinted windshield, bedlined grill, stereo system (all new 6.5s and 2 12s with a 1000w amp), roof rack rails, roof basket, 6000k hids, and backup reverse led lights

Updating my build.. More recently I have don't the front bumper mod as well as a torsion bar adjustment from 24.25" to 23.5"
I ordered a brush guard/winch plate but I'm having problems with the company that was supposed to ship it.. Hopefully it's on soon
Also added a decal to the hood
Future plans as of now: brush guard/winch plate mounted with a 9500 smittybilt winch
Rock sliders and ucp
Led tail lights and possibly a headlight retrofit

I've been looking at that one but your shipping problem is making me question it

I used "max mate" which was the seller and they shipped it out with some big rig shipping company who lost it. Maybe try another seller or first ask who they ship with

I have tons to do before I take my rig to college, but today I checked off a big one. 315/75r16 nitto terra grapplers mounted [emoji1362]
(I also desperately need to detail it)

So do you like the Toyo at 2 tread pattern or the terra grapplers more?

I've had 33" terra grapps on 20" rockstars, and that setup had a great ride and stability on road but terrible offroad. So when I threw back on the oem rims with the 33" at2s it felt a little less stable but the off-road capabilities were 1000x better than with the 20" rims. The at2s were e load so they were pretty stuff and my terra grapps now aren't so I find the ride much smoother on road, but I am yet to see how they preform offroad!
For a daily with wheeling not being a main priority so far I like the terra grapps better
