Ah ! Dear 4speedfunk ! I have waited for you ! Peoples says that you can help me with knoweledge about replacing ftont axle to solid axle. As i see on attached picture this is dana 44. Can you tell me what i need to replace axle. As you know i live in North of Russia (Kamchatka) and every part for this conversion i must buy in america, because we have parts mostly for japan cars. So i need to prepare all parts for one shipment. It will cost a lot of money for me, but i dream about this conversion. I think it will make my car more strong for off-road. Three weeks ago i have bent rancho front crossmember. It is not hard because it mounted directly to frame and any big rock can bent it very easy. Solid axle not hard mounted to frame and can play under rock attacks on springs. Anyway solid axle - good idea.

Hello, dear friends ! two days ago I went on fishing to catch a steelhead. the road passed through the coast of the okhotsk Sea. 20 km it was necessary to go on black sand. I noticed that to the car is very heavy. I have 5.3 liters engine. why we in the car have no bulb of an overheat of oil in a transfer case? how to define that I have an emergency with oil in a transfer case ?

Hello again dear friends.
I have decided to change ring and pinion in axles of my h3 v8 5.3 because using 35 tyres. Now i have 4:10 gear ratio. Plan to change them to 4:56 or 4:88. Who can give advice about that ? What better ? I think changig ring and pinion will improve mpg and make transmission easy to work. Please advice. Thank you.

If you still have stock 7.6 ifs front end then biggest you can go is 4:56 if I am not mistaken. SAS lets you go up to 5:89 (4speedfunk would be the best on this). SAS is next on my bucket list after Christmas. I have seen 4speedfunk's setup and I am impressed.

*5:89 with dana 44 front and factory rear.

Correct. 4.56 is the lowest gear ratio available for the stock front axle (AAM-7.625). The stock rear axle (GM 8.6 10-bolt) has many more choices and you can go as low as 5.38. Of course both axles must have the same ratio, and therefore...you are limited to 4.56 because of the front. Gears are readily available direct from AAM, GM, or several aftermarket sources such as Yukon, USA Gear, or G2. Several Alpha (V8) owners have swapped to 4.56 gears and this will help with shift points, and help restore highway performance that was lost with larger tires.

I have no instalation specialist here and i will swap ring and pinion by myself. So i need everything for this.. thank you.

Sorry to say but I would not suggest changing ring and pinion without having some quality wrench skills first. It is too easy to mess it up. Just my 2 cents.
