Anyone interested, or are we a bit shy of this early Sunday run and the problems we have had over the past three trips...?????

Those weren't problems - those were winnowing out the weak!

I appreciate you setting up these Sunday runs, these are great warm ups for the rest of the week.

Do tell... what is in store? I should be down there on Sat so either I drive or ride with ya, one of the two.

Sunday is usually a warm up day with milder, more scenic trails. Doug's great at finding new treks but unfortunately, the past few Sundays have yielded a few broken trucks - no fault of the trail, it was just their time to break. So far we've had two failed transmissions, one failed transfer case and one broken wrist.

Well, if something has to break, I would rather get it out of the way early so there is time to repair.

Yep, if I am going to break anything big Sunday or Monday are the days I would want to do it, unless I had my trailer then the last day is good. I will have my trailer this trip.

I hope to arrive on Saturday. So I'm in. No broken stuff for me. Especially the bones, done that twice didn't like it either time. Still have a screw in the wrist for proof.

I was going to say it was from running from bears in caves, but that was a whole different Sunday run

I had the gun out pointed at the cave on that run.:giggle: That was at the end of Dome Plateau.
The broken arm happened in Lockhart Canyon and I was jumping backward to get out of the way of a H2 and forgot there were ledges behind me.

Need to check out something this next weekend. I have a trail or two in mind with great views, ledges, sand, and maybe some mud due to the melting snow. So don't worry about coming to town in a clean vehicle. North of Moab the trails were a little muddy on Sunday and we had some decent snow Sunday night.

I hear there are some scenic trails within Arches Nat'l Park. How many of you Sunday participants have been in the park? Maybe they are a bit too boring.

Never been to the Arches. Hope to get in town Saturday night. The arches are on the list of things to see. But I'm not saying we have to go there, not against it either.

Trouble with Arches is the NPS hates dogs....
And except for one trail, they are basically all paved roads.
There is Cache valley but it is short and not much to see, and is actually on BLM lands accessed via the Park.

You definitely need to go when you are there, either by taking a day off from the group or by seeing it on one of the shorter trail days.

I'm doing some checking on the dogs on Arches back road trails. I work with a woman who came in from Arches and she said so long as the dog is in the vehicle or walked along side the road; there is no problem with a dog in the back country of Arches. It's canyonlands that has a problem with dogs in the back country.
So, if this is true...then is anyone up for a trip down Klondike Bluffs into the back side of Arches, down the 4x4 trail to Tower arch, then down the other 4x4 trail past eye of the whale arch. Then we can jump on the paved roads and those interested can do a more complete tour of Arches.

I will also report back on the other trail I'm considering; I'm planning on running part of it this coming weekend, or at least the cliff and ledge hills to see how much fun they are.:giggle:

Ran Secret Spire yesterday. Fun run, everything from sand to ledges and some great scenery.
